Hello and welcome back for another year at Second Street. Please find information below that may help you as we prepare for our year together.
All students in grades 1- 7 will attend school for one hour on Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 9:00 – 10:00 only.
All returning students will go back to their last year’s classroom. Please wait outside at the same door as last year. Students will stay in these classes through the week until we are ready to move into the new classes for this year. That will likely be on Monday, September 12.
Parents of kindergarten students are reminded to sign up for an interview time with one of our kindergarten teachers using the link that was sent at the beginning of August. Kindergarten students will begin their gradual entry on Wednesday, September 7 and follow the gradual entry schedule provided to you by the kindergarten teachers.
Students who are new to our school will meet in the undercover area by the field at 9:00 Tuesday, Sept 6. These students will be brought up to the library and spend that one hour together. They will return to the same place Wednesday morning and will be assigned temporary classes for the week. They will be assigned their classes for the year at the same time as the returning students.
Please look at the School district’s Health policy that can be found here. The information can be summarized as Take care of yourself, Take care of others, and be respectful to Everyone.
Please ensure that you are completing the Daily Health Check at home before bringing your child to school. Health and safety will remain a priority this year. If your child is not feeling well please do not bring them to school. We will be calling home to have sick students picked up. We know this is an inconvenience, but it is in everyone’s best interest to keep everyone healthy.
