We had this year’s lockdown drill today and I was very impressed with how well the children did. This is one one the most important and difficult drill we do. It is to prepare students for a situation where someone dangerous has entered the building. Classes are to lock their doors and close their windows and move to an area of the room where they cannot be seen and remain silent. While this can be a scary drill, teachers did a great job of preparing their students for the drill and debriefing after.
I hope there is never a situation where we need to perform this drill, but I was heartened with how well everyone did. Your child may have questions tonight and we encourage you to have appropriate conversations with them if they have questions.
