This Wednesday and Thursday Canada will honour and recognize Orange shirt day and Truth and Reconciliation day. This dat, Sept. 30, honours the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
We are encouraging all students to wear orange on Wednesday and classes will be talking about the history of indigenous relations and issues surrounding the events of the past.
